Addiction/Substance Use/Tobacco Cessation
For each three (3) year of continuing education cycle, each DEA-licensed prescriber of Bu-prenorphine-Mono-Product or Buprenorphine-Combined-with- Naloxone shall complete at least twelve (12) hours of continuing medical education certified in Category 1 specific to addiction medicine as part of the required continuing medical education hours set forth in 201 KAR 9:310.

Opioids and Controlled Substances
Physicians authorized to prescribe or dispense controlled substances in Kentucky to complete 4.5 hours of Board approved Category I CME relating to the use of KASPER, pain management, addiction disorders, or a combination of two or more those subjects. A physician may satisfy this requirement by completing a single approved program of 4.5 hours or longer or by completing multiple approved programs for a total of 4.5 hours.
