Course Overview

Telehealth is a rapidly growing and effective means to deliver healthcare services to older adults. It provides a method to reach individuals who are unable to access traditional in-person services and may be a preferred way to receive services. The use of telehealth by occupational therapy practitioners is increasing in multiple settings. Despite common misconceptions, older adults are open to learning and using technology to receive healthcare services. Telehealth has the potential to fill a gap in services and provide an effective means to ensure carryover to practitioners. However, it is important to understand the numerous factors that influence the use and usability of telehealth.
