South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, EMS Training Requirements

Paramedics, AEMTs, and EMTs in South Carolina must recertify every four (4) years from the date of issuance and must maintain current NREMT certification. SC Code § 44-61-80(E)
 
National Continued Competency Program (NCCP) to maintain NREMT certification and South Carolina state licenses. 
 
Requirements for Paramedics:
Valid NREMT Paramedic (or greater) certification card SC R.61-7 Section 903(A)(2)
60 hours every two years
 
Requirements for AEMTs:
Valid NREMT-AEMT (or greater) certification card SC R.61-7 Section 903(A)(2)
50 hours every two years
 
Requirements for EMTs:
Valid NREMT-EMT (or greater) certification card SC R.61-7 Section 903(A)(2)
40 hours every two years
