Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems Requirements

Maryland emergency medical responder or emergency medical technician are valid for 3 years.  30.02.02.06(H)(2).  Maryland paramedics licenses are valid for 2 years.  30.02.02.06(J)(2).
 
EMR’s and EMT’s must submit evidence of current registration as an EMT-I/99 with the National Registry.  30.02.02.03 (E)(3).  Paramedics must submit evidence of current registration as a paramedic with the National Registry.  30.02.02.03(F)(3). 
National Continued Competency Program (NCCP) to maintain NREMT certification and Maryland state licenses. 
 
Requirements for Paramedics:
72 hours every 2 years.  30.02.02.07 (G).
 
Requirements for EMT:
24 hours every 3 years.  30.02.02.07 (E)(2).

Requirements for EMR:
12 hours every 3 years.  30.02.02.07(D)(2).
 
Requirements for EMD:
24 hours of continuing education as set by their respective EMD Program. 30.02.02.07(H)(2).
