Hawaii State Department of Health Requirements

Paramedics and EMTs in Hawaii must recertify every two (2) years by January 31st of the even-numbered year. HI AR §16-85-3 
 
National Continued Competency Program (NCCP) to maintain NREMT certification and Hawaii state licenses. 
 
Requirements for Paramedics:
Valid NREMT Paramedic (or greater) certification HI AR §16-85-55 (a) OR 
72 hours that includes 48 hours of paramedic refresher training and 24 hours of CE from subjects listed in HI AR 16-85-56(b) every two years. HI AR §16-85-55 (b)(2)
 
Requirements for EMT-Bs:
Valid NREMT-AEMT (or greater) certification HI AR §16-85-55 (a) OR 
72 hours that includes 24 hours of a state-approved EMT refresher training and 48 hours of CE from subjects listed in HI AR 16-85-56(b) every two years. HI AR §16-85-55 (b)(1)
