Florida Department of Health Bureau of Emergency Medical Services Requirements

Florida licensees must renew every two years. 
 
Requirements for Paramedics:
30 hours of continuing education every two years.  Of the 20 hours, two (2) hours must be related to pediatric emergencies.  FAC 64J-1.009.

Requirements for EMTs:
30 hours of continuing education every two years.  Of the 20 hours, two (2) hours must be related to pediatric emergencies.  FAC 64J-1.008.
 

Effective January 1, 2016, paramedic candidates will take the NREMT exam to gain Florida certification.
 

National Continued Competency Program (NCCP) to maintain NREMT certification.
