Course Overview

Modern-day pharmacy practice has a historical basis in compounding, and it falls under the purview of pharmacists and trained compounders. As technology and chemical entities have become increasingly more sophisticated, the principle remains the same: Adhering to stringent regulations governing the pharmaceutical laboratory is key to achieving consistent and effective drug delivery. However, even minor lapses in standards for compounding can result in devastating consequences. Pharmacists must be vigilant and strictly adhere to regulations for compounding to ensure their extemporaneous preparations are safe. The goal of this course is to provide information about national regulations governing the compounding and dispensing of medications.
