Summary:

Several disorders can include the presence of psychotic symptoms. These disorders include brief psychotic disorder, substance-induced psychotic disorder, delusional disorder, postpartum psychosis, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder and shared psychotic disorder. Psychosis is a term used to describe symptoms that typically include the presence of hallucinations and delusions. The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, 5th edition, text revision (DSM-5), describes other unusual symptoms that can also be present (called positive symptoms), such as disorganized speech or behavior, or other symptoms that are present in healthy people but not in those with a mental illness, such as lack of emotion, lack of or conflicting facial expressions, and apathy (called negative symptoms).

Objectives:

The Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) requires OnCourse Learning to verify the number of clock hours awarded through a pilot testing process. Please help us by completing the survey at the link on your certificate. The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. Based on the results, the clock hours awarded may be amended for this course. Please call (800) 866-0919 with any questions. Thank you for your assistance.
