Penetrating trauma of the chest can have severe and devastating consequences. Advances in ultrasound and treatment therapies have improved survival. A high degree of suspicion is indicated to identify the more subtle injuries associated with penetrating trauma to the chest.
Trauma Reports, published six times a year, is a clinical monograph focusing on emergency care of adult and pediatric patients with moderate and severe traumatic injuries. The articles are thoroughly researched and undergo a rigorous peer review process.

Upon completing this program, the participants will be able to:
  • Discuss conditions that should increase suspicion for traumatic injuries;
  • Describe the various modalities used to identify different traumatic conditions;
  • Cite methods of quickly stabilizing and managing patients; and
  • Identify possible complications that may occur with traumatic injuries.
