Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to:
- Know how drugs can impact nutritional status in long-term care
- Understand impact of drug regulations on drug use in long-term care
- Identify food and drug interactions
- Identify drug-dietary supplement interactions
- Be able to identify drugs to be given with and without food
- Know how drug use differs for the elderly
- Distinguish which drugs should not be sued with the elderly per the Beers Criteria
- Know risks of adverse effects of drug use for the elderly
