Objectives:

Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to:

  1. Explain how the Minimum Data Set influences nutrition care planning.
  2. Describe the relationship between the MDS and Prospective Payment.
  3. Identify how Quality Indicators relate to the survey process.
  4. Use the medical record as a resource for nutrition care planning.
  5. Evaluate a process for identifying unplanned weight loss.
  6. Understand the use of Investigative Protocol in the survey process.
  7. Identify factors related to the use of tube feeding for the terminally ill and potential alternatives.
