Summary:

Men in their midlife years enter the healthcare system in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings. Healthcare providers across disciplines need to be aware of the many social, psychological and physiological factors associated with male midlife transition.

Objectives:

The purpose of this program is to instruct nurses, health educators, physical therapists and pharmacists on recent developments in the biopsychosocial aspects of middle-aged men’s health. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to:
  • Explain male adult and early childhood psychosocial development and the link to middle-age behaviors and psychiatric problems
  • Describe the physical, sexual, emotional and behavioral effects of testosterone
  • Describe health and psychological risk factors for disease and death for middle-aged men and healthy lifestyles that can mitigate these risks

The information that was presented was thorough and objective. It referred to the research and data collection that started statistics related to the topic. I felt that the information would help in my clinical practice
