Course Overview

Orthoses are beneficial for a wide range of clinical presentations to help maintain or improve range of motion, reduce pain, improve function, and provide stability. Therapy professionals have a large role in recommending and training individuals in the proper use of upper and lower body orthoses. In some cases, it is within the therapist’s scope of practice to fabricate these devices as well. This course will compare different types of orthoses and their indications for use with support from evidence-based research.
