Course Overview

Today‘s clinical nutrition managers face a constant challenge in how to provide high-quality nutrition care to sick patients while facing budget cuts and staff downsizing. About 40% to 50% of all patients admitted to the hospital are at risk for malnutrition, and need quality care. Several strategies are available to help the clinical manager decide on appropriate patient-staff ratios, as well as staff productivity tools and guidelines for recruitment and hiring practices. Clinical managers can exhibit creativity in managing the workforce, including using nontraditional work schedules, while providing quality care and staying within budget.
