Course Overview

Managing clinical nutrition services is tricky. Excellent patient care must be provided - many times on a shoestring or with fewer resources than needed. Budgets can be picked apart by administrators, and clinical dietitians feel that they have an inadequate amount of time to care for patients. Learning how to develop a budget, manage fiscal resources and find new sources of income are critical skills to be a successful manager in today’s fiscal environment. This course will look at budget preparation and income generation, including fee-for-service programs, cost-benefit analysis and cost-effective analysis, to help dietitians become successful clinical nutrition managers. Forms are provided to assist with budget planning.
