Course Overview

Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS) is the new name for the condition previously called joint hypermobility syndrome (JHS or HMS) or EDS hypermobility type. Although joint laxity is the most visible sign, hEDS may be associated with developmental delay (in children), severe or chronic widespread musculoskeletal pain in adults and children, as well as fatigue and sleep disturbance, autonomic dysfunction, fragile and poorly healing skin, anxiety and panic disorder, gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, and urogenital abnormalities. Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (HSD) describes the range of EDS-related conditions associated with joint hypermobility.
