Being a patient with poorly controlled physical chronic disease with a mental health comorbidity can decrease desired outcomes and increase cost. This course will give a comprehensive overview of the COMPASS Initiative and discuss its validity in primary care to improve health outcomes for patients with depression, anxiety, and substance abuse.

He served as VPMA and Chief Medical Officer of Kettering Health Network, former President and current board member of Kettering Physicians Network, has been a national examiner for the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program, editor of Focus, the newsletter for the American College of Medical Quality, and has been the editor-in-chief of Primary Care Reports for over two decades.
