This course describes the normal changes that occur to a woman’s reproductive system as she ages and offers ways to manage unpleasant symptoms.
The purpose of this program is to improve the knowledge of physicians, nurses, dietitians, fitness professionals and health educators about the recognition and available treatments of perimenopausal symptoms. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to:
- Identify four common symptoms experienced by women in the perimenopausal years
- Discuss the current recommendations for use of hormonal therapy
- Name the three groups of non-hormonal prescription medications used to treat vasomotor symptoms
