Course Overview

A cesarean section, commonly referred to as a C-section, is a common procedure performed by obstetricians on a scheduled or emergency basis to deliver babies. It may be a planned procedure or may occur as the result of emergency complications that arise during vaginal birth. While they may be common procedures, they do carry risk for both the mother and baby. The goal of this course is to educate surgical technologists on cesarean sections, when they are used, and their potential complications.
