Course Overview

Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is associated with many behavioral, social, and psychological problems such as school failure, family problems, social difficulties, depression, and anxiety. Previously, it was thought that most children with ADHD would “outgrow” many of the associated problems. However, many continue to have difficulties with inattention and impulsivity into their adult years. The goal of this course is to educate medical assistants, nurses, physician assistants, and physicians about ADHD and its management.

About the Course Author

Sean Kennard is a psychiatric nurse specializing in behavioral health across the lifespan. He is an experienced behavioral health case manager, psychiatric intake clinician, and former program director for a geriatric behavioral health inpatient unit.
