Course Overview

Two treatment approaches, Sound Production Treatment and a self-administered computer program, demonstrate strong evidence for intervention for acquired apraxia of speech (AOS). This course presents the quality and outcomes of the research studies for intervention strategies with some evidence for efficacy. The detailed interventions include potential evidence for practice. Also, strategies from the literature on diagnosing apraxia of speech will be defined and discussed. Even with limited evidence, it is important to determine best practices through examining the research available to speech-language pathologists.
