Course Overview

Urinalysis is one of the most economical, simple, and frequent lab tests requested. The specimen is easily obtained, transported, and examined in the clinical lab. A complete urinalysis consists of a macroscopic exam and chemical analysis, usually with a commercially made “dipstick,” and a microscopic exam of the concentrated urine sediment. Lab professionals need to be familiar with both aspects of testing.
