Sjögren’s syndrome is a systemic chronic inflammatory disorder that usually affects exocrine organs. The majority of individuals with primary Sjögren’s syndrome present with sicca symptoms that include dry eyes, dry mouth and parotid gland enlargement. Treatment of Sjögren’s syndrome is symptomatic and patient satisfaction remains poor.
