The Louisiana Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Requirements

Louisiana licenses must complete continuing education activities annually.  Continuing education activities must be completed by June 30 each year.  Title 46, Part LXXV §123(A)
 
 
Speech-Language Pathologist
Ten clock hours of continuing education activities must be completed annually.  Of the ten hours a minimum of five clock hours of continuing education activities may be in the areas related to the professions of audiology and speech-language pathology. Title 46, Part LXXV §123(B)
 
 
Audiologist
Ten clock hours of continuing education activities must be completed annually.  Of the ten hours a minimum of five clock hours of continuing education activities may be in the areas related to the professions of audiology and speech-language pathology. Title 46, Part LXXV §123(B)
Any audiologist who is registered as a dispensing audiologist must complete a minimum of three clock hours of continuing education activities directly related to hearing aid dispensing.  This can include business/practice management, marketing, aural habilitation/rehabilitation, diagnostic assessment, characteristics of hearing aids and their application, etc. Title 46, Part LXXV §123(C)
 
Dual License
15 clock hours of continuing education activities must be completed annually.  Of the 15 hours a minimum of five clock hours shall be in speech-language pathology and five clock hours in audiology.  The remaining five clock hours may be completed in areas related to the professions of audiology and speech-language pathology.
