Wyoming Office of Emergency Medical Services Requirements

First Responders: 26 hours of continuing medical education.  Of the 26 hours 18 hours must be completed using these requirements: 2 hours of preparatory; 2 hours of patient assessment; 2 hours airway management; 4 hours trauma; 4 hours medical emergencies; 2 hours pediatrics and childbirth; 2 hours EMS operations.

EMT-B: 55 hours of continuing medical education.  Of the 55 hours 49 hours must be completed using these requirements: 3 hours preparatory; 4 hours airway management' 5 hours patient assessment; 10 hours medical emergencies; 10 hours trauma; 6 hours infants/children; 3 hours ambulance operations; 4 hours self assisted medications. 

EMT-I: 55 hours of continuing medical education.  Of the 55 hours 49 hours must be completed using these requirements: 3 hours preparatory; 4 hours airway management' 5 hours patient assessment; 10 hours medical emergencies; 10 hours trauma; 6 hours infants/children; 3 hours ambulance operations; 4 hours self assisted medications.  

Paramedics: 55 hours of continuing medical education.  Of the 55 hours 49 hours must be completed using these requirements: 3 hours preparatory; 4 hours airway management' 5 hours patient assessment; 10 hours medical emergencies; 10 hours trauma; 6 hours infants/children; 3 hours ambulance operations; 4 hours self assisted medications.  Paramedics must also complete 12 hours of advanced medical education.  Six hours in the area of cardiology and arrhythmia recognition; and 6 hours related to advanced patient assessment.
