Renewals must be completed by December 31st prior to the expiration date of licensure.

CE Requirements for EMTs and Paramedics

Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD): 24 hours.  Tweleve of the hours must be medical sjubjects/skills of bureau approved activity and 12 hours of dispatch related subjects/skills.                                  
First Responder: 8 contact hours with 2 hours relating to pediatrics. 

EMT-Basic: 24 hours that consists of 1 hour of preparatory; 2 hours of airway and ventilation; 6 hours of 3 hours of patient assessment; 6 hours of medical emergencies; 6 hours of trauma emergencies; 4 hours of special considerations; 2 hours of operations.                                           
EMT-Intermediate: 30 hours of approved CE wiht five hours relating to pediatric content.  The following subject area requirments must also be met: 1 hour of preparatory; 2 hours of airway and ventilation; 3 hours of patient assessment; 6 hours of medical emergencies; 4 hours of special considerations; 2 hours of operations.                           
EMT-Paramedic: 24 contact hours are required with six contact hours relating to rediatrics.  The follwing subject area requirements must also be met: 3 hours of preparatory; 4 hours of airway and ventilation; 4 hours of patient assessment; 18 hours of medical emergencies; 10 hours of trauma emergencies; 6 hours of special considerations; 3 hours of operations.
