Minnesota Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Board Requirements

CE Requirements for EMTs and Paramedics after April 1, 2016. The Minnesota Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Board (Board) has adopted the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) – National Continued Competency Program (NCCP) requirements for ongoing recertification of EMTs, AEMTs, and Paramedics in Minnesota.

The NCCP has three components including the NCCR (National Continued Competency Requirements); LCCP (Local Continued Competency Requirements); and ICCR (Individual Continued Competency Requirements) to complete during an EMS providers two (2) year certification period.

EMT: 40 hours total: 20 NCCR hours, 10 LCCR hours, 10 ICCR hours 

AEMT: 50 hours total: 25 NCCR hours, 12.5 LCCR hours, 12.5 ICCR hours

Paramedic: 60 hours total: 30 NCCR hours. 15 LCCR hours, 15 ICCR hours
