Renewal is annual and must be completed during the birth month of the applicant.

CE Requirements for EMTs 
                        
EMT: None, refresher program only                                
EMT-Intermediate: 23 hours

Complete a minimum of twenty-three (23) credit hours of continuing education at intervals not to exceed twenty-four (24) months. Such twenty-three (23) hours shall include, but not be limited to, coursework in intravenous techniques and advanced airway management.  In order to receive credit in Connecticut, courses must be approved by each sponsoring hospital's Clinical Coordinator and must be administered within the state by a state-approved instructor.
