Summary:

The ability to give an effective presentation is an essential skill for occupational therapists who want to educate their team members, advance their careers, and contribute to the development of the profession. Being able to orally communicate knowledge, ideas, opinions and plans is essential in any practice setting. This module provides strategies for becoming competent and comfortable with delivering presentations to peers, departments and community groups, as well as at national professional conferences. It also identifies motivational factors of the target audience and teaches how to tailor presentations to that group.

 

Objectives:

The goal of this program is to enhance OTs’ ability to orally communicate ideas, plans, opinions, and knowledge through professional presentations. After you study the information presented here, you will be able to —
  • Describe the essential steps in planning interesting and effective professional presentations.
  • Identify motivational factors of the target audience and tailor presentations to that group.
  • Create your own strategic plan for both preparing and giving the presentation

Under Psychomotor objectives the auther uses a sentence: A 'cognitive objective' for a ssession on lowering stress is .... I think it is suppose to be a Psychomotor objective. But a good course.
